The beginning of ANNA + NINA
Wilden jullie altijd al je eigen onderneming starten? Hoe is ANNA+NINA uiteindelijk tot stand gekomen? Anna & Nina: “Het was van ons beiden altijd al een droom. We wisten dat we samen een goed team zouden zijn en toen we met sieraden uit Bali aan de slag gingen wisten we meteen dat het goed zat.”
Waar kennen jullie elkaar van? Hoe gaat de samenwerking tussen jullie twee?
We waren buren! Samenwerking gaat bijzonder goed. In bijna 10 jaar tijd hebben vrijwel nog nooit een ruzie gehad.

Jullie begonnen als agency voor sieraden. Dit is toen gestart in Bali. Wat gaf jullie de doorslag om ook een eigen merk te beginnen? Anna en Nina: “Wij merkten dat we ons steeds meer met het design wilden bemoeien… Dit kunnen we zelf beter dachten we steeds vaker…”
Hoe zouden jullie het merk ANNA+NINA beschrijven? Wat maakt ANNA+NINA nou zo uniek?
Anna + Nina is een merk dat vrij uitgesproken is, heel ’tongue in cheek’ zoals ze dat noemen. We mixen dure sieraden met echte diamanten moeiteloos met funky T-shirts en ik denk dat onze klant wel durft.
Film en Fashion
Een belangrijke vraag is natuurlijk wat ze gestudeerd hebben. Anna & Nina: “Nina heeft aan de Hogeschool van Amsterdam Amfi gestudeerd, Fashion Management en Anna film en televisieweteschappen/pop art aan de Uva.”

- WO bachelor Media en Cultuur aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam
Hebben jullie daar ook baat bij gehad? Anna & Nina: “We hebben er niet dagelijks profijt van maar we hebben er wel op een bepaalde manier leren nadenken en dat is altijd goed. Wel denken we dat we ondernemers ‘pur sang’ zijn.”

Workday of Anna & Nina
We beginnen vaak ergens in de buurt van de school van onze dochters met een kop koffie. Dan bespreken we het een en ander en gaan we daarna naar onze eerste afspraak, of naar kantoor. Soms gaan we inkopen, soms hebben we meetings met het team, of we gaan langs onze winkels. Elke dag is anders.
Hoe gaan jullie om met tegenslagen?
Zeker als we tegenslagen hebben is het altijd fijn dat we elkaar hebben. Onder druk presteren wij eigenlijk op z’n best, heb ik gemerkt.
Wat is jullie grootste droom?
Steeds groter groeiende webshop, Instagram, en inspirerende collecties brengen, zonder veel geldzorgen of heel hoge werkdruk.
“Inspiratie is overal te vinden”
Jullie willen mensen een glimlach op hun gezicht toveren. Hoe zorgen jullie daarvoor?
Door producten te brengen waar mensen blij van worden. Door fotografie, filmpjes en campagnes te brengen die mensen meeneemt in onze droomwereld, door etalages te maken die inspireren en een kerst collectie die ervoor zorgt dat je zin in de feestdagen krijgt. En door producten te maken met humor!
Hebben jullie nog inspirerende tips voor de lezers van LINSPO?
Vroeger dachten wij dat we vooral door verre reizen en heel aparte dingen geïnspireerd raakten, maar terwijl we tijdens corona thuis zaten en onder hoge druk stonden hebben we de meest creatieve dingen bedacht! Kortom inspiratie is overal te vinden!
